Tour de France caught me and when we were trying to cross Aragó and we were stuck waiting for a half hour before we could cross the street to the apartment. Other people had been waiting since 2pm and it was now 5 or 5:15.
Sitting on the back of a break all day means you can’t win, even if you do cross the line first. If you win, everybody says you didn’t ride all day. If you don’t win, they ask how could you not have won.
Eating the bicycles along the side took a long time for us and was one of the reasons the policeman wouldn’t let us cross. The man that changed the tire of the injured did it so quickly the crowd was impressed.
